The sea ice in the Arctic plays a key role in regulating global climate. Unfortunately, the Arctic is warming much faster than elsewhere on earth, causing sea ice to melt. Andrea Ceccolini, co-CEO of Real Ice, a UK start-up researching the preservation of Arctic sea ice, will talk about Real Ice’s work on Ice Thickening, which encourages the natural process of Arctic sea ice generation. He will cover important aspects of their work ranging from global warming to biodiversity preservation and respecting the indigenous way of life. Broader themes relating to ‘geoengineering’ can be addressed in the Q&A following the talk. All welcome!
