Our fortnightly planning meetings are a good way to meet others from the Wandsworth group and get involved in planning future events. If you're new and prefer just to take a back seat and observe for a bit, that's fine. All welcome! 

Join us from 11am to 1pm for a bit of green man swarming. The aim is to highlight dangers of air pollution and the need for urgent action to deal with it.

People needed for swarming, leafleting, looking after our stall. We have lots of great air pollution leaflets left over from the mass cycle ride in August.

Do join us if you can! 

PS For those who've not done green man swarming before, it means holding a banner in front of the stationary traffic while the pedestrian lights are green - so we aren't actually holding up the traffic at all.

XR Wandsworth are organising a mass cycle ride and rally on Saturday 23rd August. This family-friendly ride will be protected by stewards front and back.

As it now seems likely that there will be a big  event in support of Palestine scheduled for Saturday 9th August, we’ve reluctantly agreed to POSTPONE our XR Wandsworth summer picnic. Watch this space for updates on either a new date OR an alternative summer social event!!

As we are now heading into summer holiday season with a fair few of us away, we’ve decided to have a summer break from our regular Zoom planning meetings. So… no meeting on 22nd July or 5th August and we will resume on TUESDAY 19th AUGUST. But before then we have our Summer Picnic on Saturday 9th August! 

The UK’s banking and insurance industries are fuelling the global climate crisis, enabling the Israeli genocide in Palestine and facilitating the border/detention industry. Time for us to take matters into our own hands.

For our next book club, we will be reading Democracy For Sale: Dark Money and Dirty Politics by Peter Geoghegan. The Guardian has this to say about the book: 

'It’s a compulsively readable, carefully reearched account of how a malignant combination of rightwing ideology, secretive money (much of it from the US) and weaponisation of social media have shaped contemporary British (and to a limited extent, European) politics.'

There will be plenty to discuss, particularly in the current context, and we hope you'll join us!

Join us outside Wandsworth Town Hall 6-8.30pm for the launch of our new Wake Up Wandsworth 2025 campaign. This will coincide with a full meeting of Wandsworth Council – a chance to talk about our demands to councillors on their way into the meeting and to members of the public passing by. All welcome!
