Our fortnightly planning meetings are a good way to meet others from the Wandsworth group and get involved in planning future events. If you're new and prefer just to take a back seat and observe for a bit, that's fine. All welcome!

Do join us for street stall, leafleting and green man swarming in protest at the continuing congestion and pollution around Putney High Street. We'll be there from 11am to 1pm, with hazmat suits, toxic air signs, flags and banners, then we'll head off to a nearby pub. 

We have decided to defer next Tuesday’s usual Zoom planning meeting to Tuesday 13th February as quite a few of us will be going to observe the Council’s Environment Committee at the Council offices, starting at 7.30. The agenda includes a report back on progress against the borough’s Climate Action Plan. Why not join us?💚

This will be our first in-person meeting of 2024, so a good time to think about our plans for 2024 - what do we want to do? what do we hope to achieve? If you've not been to an XR Wandsworth meeting before, why not come along to this one and meet others from the group and get stuck into some planning. All welcome! 

A talk by Keval Bharadia on how we can use the financial system to tackle the climate crisis. Find out about:

💡The systemic issues driving the climate crisis. 
💡The history of the financial system and how the markets operate.
💡A proposal for a tax that could be used to transfer wealth back to the global South and act to limit an out of control system

Keval had a long career at the London Stock Exchange and understands how the system works and how it can be tackled.

For our second book club, we will be reading The Ministry for the Future by Kim Stanley Robinson. It’s quite long but really worth reading, so best to get started! All welcome!

It is now a bit of a tradition for Green Santa and his Elves to turn up at Southside Shopping Centre on a Saturday before Christmas for singing, dancing and spreading the message that showing your love doesn't have to mean buying a whole load of 'stuff'. And why break with a tradition if it's a good one? We'll be outside Southside from 11am to 1pm, then heading off to a nearby pub - do join us. All welcome!
